Gardens by Design offer a professional garden design service complemented by an in-house construction service - ensuring that the design intention and your desires for your new garden are not compromised and that you receive the very best service from conception through to completion.

We offer a complete landscaping service, incorporating all features and elements of the external environment from the installation of terraces and water features through to lighting and special features. We are members of the Association of Professional Landscapers and the Horticultural Trades Association and are fully insured for Professional Liability.

Some commercial work is undertaken, however our main focus is in private domestic gardens. Projects can be of any size and the style is discussed and developed closely with you to achieve the garden you want, on time and within an agreed budget.

Design

Whether you have no idea what you want for your garden, have some ideas and need help in developing them or maybe you already have a clear vision of what you want to achieve? Whatever your situation, Ben's varied and flexible approach to design ensures that you receive the level of service that suits you, taking into account how involved you want to be in the decision making process. This approach works to give you a choice of options and allows you to make informed choices, subsequently providing you with any resources needed to achieve results you never dreamed possible.

Ben draws inspiration from nature and the way we respond to it. His designs can have references from a wide range of garden styles including Traditional Arts and Crafts, the Classical, Traditional, Oriental, the Modern etc. His propensity is for economy of line, optimisation of space, developing the special characteristics of the site and working towards refined, elegant and creative solutions - a space where people can celebrate their relationship with nature. Planting is designed and executed based on sound horticultural knowledge experience to add interest, texture, shape and form all year round.

Construction

The friendly construction team are professional experienced landscape gardeners who are familiar with the high standards of the designer. They are enthusiasts as well as experts and it shows in their work. With his extensive experience in construction, Ben monitors all projects and doesn't mind getting his own hands dirty on site when required!
